1988 to 1997
This 10 year period saw enormous improvement in the fire trucks and equipment.
Towards the end of this period the planning stages for the new fire station were put in place.
New members were recruited from Maryville Downs and Wandena Estates.
Busy Bee's were held quite regularly during this period on the fire trucks.
The new fire truck was housed at H. Reads yard to have the body rebuilt, painted and mechanical repairs carried out before the 1988/89 fire season.
The Shire was asked to supply to supply a radio for Phil Beales private vehicle. The repairs and painting of the new truck was started in April 1988 and was finished by September 1988 by a group of Lowers Fire Fighters.
Norm Green resigned as a fire officer and Robert Marchesi was elected to fill his position.
